The Labrador Straits Museum exhibits focus on settlement over the past 150 years with special emphasis on the role of women in our history. Special attractions include a 10-foot long komatik, a type of sleigh still used by local people for winter wood hauling and recreation and a figurehead retrieved from the wreck of a fishing schooner at East St. Modeste (shown here). There is also an exhibit of reproduction artifacts from the L’Anse Amour Burial Mound National Historic Site housed at this Museum.. Visit Official Website
